The Gift of Love – by Sara Teasdale
There is no greater love than this:
That someone lays down their life,
Not to die, but to give all.
Love comes not when we wish it,
But when our hearts have learned
The lessons of grief and fire.
When pain burns, love is born.
Once upon a time, an old man was speaking to his grandson: "Inside us, there are two wolves fighting, a terrible battle. One represents the ego, malice, greed, anger, arrogance, envy, pain, regret, inferiority, and lies. The other wolf represents joy, love, wisdom, trust, peace, hope, compassion, faith, truth, kindness, and humility."
"Grandfather, which wolf will win?" asked the child.
"The one you feed," the old man replied.
You often find yourself, unwillingly, in the middle of this battle, not knowing how to get out. Life can seem like a continuous struggle, a downpour of disappointment, pain, suffering, and sadness. These were not your choices; you wouldn't have wished for them, yet they happened. But it is time for this battle to end, for you to find true love, and for hope to enter your life—the hope that you will succeed.
Place your hand over your heart and say to yourself and to the entire Universe:
"I will find the right path! I thank Life for all its blessings! I know that I am helped and supported in every moment of my life!"
"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." — The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
This is the secret you must keep in mind every second of your life: trust what you feel, trust what your soul tells you! It never makes a mistake.
The road is not easy, and you will find that in the most difficult situations, you stand alone. Do not let this frighten you. All the hardships you go through will make you wise, mature, and fearless. They will prove to you that you can do it and that you are much stronger than you think: you can achieve anything you desire, no matter how hard it seems.
You have the power to walk away from a relationship where you are not happy. You have the power to get up when you fall. You have the power to become who you wish to be.
Close your eyes. Imagine how you want to be five years from now. Take all the time you need. Step closer into this picture and see the details; shape it exactly how you want your life to look in five years. Recall this image every single day, even if it seems like an impossible scenario right now!
You can’t add days to your life, but you can add life to your days!
Love will make all the effort worth it! And if you truly desire it, the entire Universe will conspire to help you! Love wants to be discovered, experienced, lived!
The comfort zone is a wonderful place—quiet, like a clear sky—but it lacks the light, the burning sun, and the vibrant energy. The sun is the love that floods your heart, waiting to be given to another. Love is worth every effort: the patience, the acceptance, the failures. If your arms are open to receive true love, it won't be long before it appears!
Love is not just a journey. It is the destination, the force that teaches us more about ourselves than we could ever imagine. Sometimes love seems uncertain; there may be so many challenges along the way, but the Universe will guide you toward the love you deserve. Trust your intuition, trust the voice of your heart, and you will have the surprise of a lifetime watching how love finds its way to you.
Love urges us to evolve, to become the most complete and best version of ourselves. It can be a lighthouse guiding us in moments of darkness, but at the same time, it can challenge us in unexpected ways, teaching us the most important lessons through hardships and difficult relationships.
Hardships are not meant to knock us down, to break our souls, but to push us toward healing, toward self-discovery and knowledge, toward true inner peace and spiritual fulfillment. Every misstep helps us learn the perfection of the dance of love—a dance of love made whole.
